I went to my first yoga class with Ian Scorgie back in 1995. I cannot say what prompted me to go, an inner calling, a curiosity maybe. I can say that it changed me. It opened me up to a feeling of wholeness, a feeling of being deeply settled in both body and mind. This was new to me and I was hooked.
I completed teacher training with Yoga Scotland in 2002. Since then I have gone on to study extensively with internationally renowned yoga educator Leslie Kaminoff. His courses have been hugely inspirational and have helped deepen my understanding of anatomy within the context of a yoga practice.
Over recent years I have become more and more interested in mindfulness meditation. It has become an indispensable part of my practice. I am currently undertaking teacher training with The Mindfulness Association with a view to offering courses and classes soon.
Based in Banchory, I offer a range of classes from chair yoga, chill out evening yoga, gentle functional movement inspired yoga, intermediate level yoga. Whichever you come to expect slow flowing moves with lots of space to tune in to your present moment experience.
